Virtuosity, sheer talent, precision, kick ass are just a few adjectives used to describe HiWay69. The  band has specialized into Latino-Rock music and does it to perfection. The band has been officially formed on August 29, 2003, but don’t get fooled by the recent date. All the musicians have been playing together for a long time in their former band called Asciano and very successful on the Manila bar scene.

HiWay69 is composed by one of the strongest bass, drum and percussion section you can dream off and a virtuoso lead guitarist. This, combined to the strong vocals creates an explosive cocktail of rhythm and beat that cannot leave you indifferent and will carry you all the way to the dance floor.

 HiWay69 is Butch Montejo (Lead Vocals & Percussions). Butch has had his fair share of the limelight, having begun his career at a very young age, locally and abroad. Butch also released a solo album under Viva Record. Al Cobarrubia, (Bass Guitar, Acoustic Guitar & Vocals) brings also his experience and precision to beat of HiWay69, not mentionning his beautiful harmonies on vocals and a number of songs where his sings lead. Joel Hernandez Basaran (Drums) the wiz-kid will rock your soul with his very senior way of beating the skin of his drum and anything else he can bang on around him. Stephen Lazam (Lead Guitars, Vocals) filled Lito's shoes in August 2005. Stephen is a fantastic guitar player with fast fingers, equally good playing his electric fender or a nylon acoustic guitar. Tom Rodriguez (Keyboards) is likewise another musical veteran, giving the perfect feel and touch to HiWay69’s diverse sound. Finally Aldos Ramento (Percussions-Vocals).

Sheer talent, chemistry plus the band’s knack to communicate their music to broad and discriminating music lovers affirms HiWay69’s commitment to spreading and sharing genuine appreciation of the songs they play to anyone willing to listen and take part in the magic of their performances.

On October 24, 2003 the boy had the opportunity to back-up international singer Bobby Soul of The Platters for a night of timeless hits. They did an absolutely brilliant job, the crowed thought they have been back him up for years...

- Back-up musicians for International Artist Bobby Soul of The Platters on some of his shows in Manila during October and November 2003.

- December 2003: HiWay69's first album "Road Kill" is on the making. The boys are testing the 1st 2 titles "Just A Man" & "I'm a Rock" with their public during live performances. The reaction is very promising.
